Patrick Engel/Daily Campus With Most Informative Story

of the key plays of the game-great breakdown

Final play was an drive/pass option-hit one of the 2 SMU snipers sitting on 3 point line to Snake's left and I bet another option was the alley-opp to Ben Moore at the bucket-pretty sure we've seen that several times. Sterling was on the baseline near Shake so Jarrey and Semi were the 2 on the 3 point line

Except the USC 3 came from the right corner, not the left. (Unless he's describing from the D''s perspective - which no one does, as it's not what the reader's "eye" sees.)

And USC did not "go back ahead" with the shot, "for good" or otherwise. They had never led at all before that.

And if the writer mentioned Moore stepping out of bounds, maybe the most glaring unforced error down the final stretch - I couldn't find it.

Mostly overwrought, dramatic detail here.
SMU players and coaches simply f'd up - on multiple fronts.
Or --- panicked over-thinking - with a touch of entitlement, if you like.

SMU had enough 8-10-12-point leads in this thing to have blown SoCal''s doors off.
No killer instinct shown. Too much "we got this" body language at times too.

Of course--- just sayin'.

Wrong. USC took its first lead at the 2:10 mark on three by Boatwright. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... =400946420

Wrong. That was Brown, not Moore. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket ... =400946420

Great article by the DC, by far the best to come out of our crushing loss. Jank's explanation for keeping the defense off-balance while he calls out the play as Shake brings the ball up the court is absolutely the right call. As in so many of these tourney games the W went to the team that executed in the last minute or two....they recognized our defense and hit a big 3 and we couldn't execute after Semi got the steal, Ben got the O-Board and on the final offensive set. Again great season, great seniors and I look forward to making the Dance 2 years in a row so we have the experience on how to win.

They did not have that body language at all. It was an intense game against a USC team that had more double digit comeback wins that any team in the nation. Providence was up 17 and lost. Also, I think it was a good article.
