According to the Sports Editor in Little Rock it would be SEC 4 and ACC 0 if it were not for the officials.

After Friday's defeat, and after watching UCLA dismantle Cincy in the 2nd half last night, I'm beginning to get the impression that steamrolling through a very soft AAC does not adequately prepare our top AAC teams for the rigors of the NCAA tournament. Has anyone but Cincy even won a tourney game since UConn hoisted the trophy?

Time to add Witchita State and time for UConn to start pulling their weight again!!

Cincy beat Purdue in 2015 and UConn beat Colorado last year.

That little 3'6" leprechaun who has never played a sport in his life has all the answers. And the answer is always the refs robbed us.

so, just to be clear, the conference has 3 tournament wins in the past 3 years. All in the first round, correct?

The AAC has performed terribly in the NCAA tournament since creation, aside from one obvious exception. I think our conference is better than it gets credit for, but it's incredibly hard to make that argument with the data on hand. We have a lot more excuses than wins.

SMU needs to plan to be successful in spite of our conference. If the conference improves, too, then that's just icing on the cake.

Exhibit A: Xavier and Butler

Midwest basketball schools with tradition who made real commitments to long term success. They have positioned themselves to play quality competition on a regular basis without being P5.

The AAC can and should get Wichita State in ASAP. They have made a similar commitment simply by paying their coach. The schools we have now: UCONN, CINCY, Temple, Houston, Memphis.... have hoops tradition and should be able to compete year after year. Everyone has bad years now and then.

The Florida schools ought to have the resources to be competitive.... one is well on the way and the other is going to get creamed with sanctions.

Tulsa? Ahhh..... let em stay.

What do you do with ECU and Tulane?
Are hottie cheerleaders and good food enough?

ACC only having one team is a surprise.

Yeah. Hard to make an argument that they weren't the best this year. Just another example of how fickle and unforgiving the tournament can be.

That said, I've got a ton of in-laws that are ACC fans, so I'm thrilled.
