Greatest public HS team ever?

It's the off-season for us so I'll ask this, what is the greatest HS team you've ever seen? I'm not counting the crazy private schools teams (Oak Hill, Montrose....) but public schools. I think the recent Plano West squad has to be in the conversation with Hogg, Davis and Jamabo.

The best team I ever saw was 2001-02 Lincoln - B Hop (SMU), Chris Bosh (GT), Byron Eaton (Okie St) and they had another guy who went to Rhode Island. Finished undefeated, won state and the mythical national championship given by USA Today. Pre injury B Hop was as electric and unstoppable as any HS PG I've ever seen. He could stop a game with highlight dunks. He was amazing, and so was that team. As good as Bosh was, he took a back seat to B Hop.

Also, saw them play a game against the Colony with Deron Williams and Bracey Wright at St Marks. B Hop controlled the game and was easily the best player on the floor. Think he finished with 30 and assisted on many of Bosh's points. Pretty awesome to see a talent like pre injury B Hop against D-Will in HS.

I dunno-but the game I would have loved to watch was the shootout between Ira Terrell( Dallas Roosevelt) v Rick Bullock (San Antonio Jefferson). Terrell had 45 in Semi-Finals and Bullock had 44 in the Finals but Roosevelt won. Then they battled each and every year of their college career at SMU v Tech. The greatest high school/college duel in Texas History

Willowridge TX 2000-2001

TJ Ford (Texas)
Daniel Ewing (Duke)
Ivan McFarlin (OSU)
Kenny Taylor (Baylor)
Curtis Walker (St playoff MVP not sure where he went)

Two were McDonalds all Americans and they won state in 2000 and 2001

Didn't Quinton Ross' Kimball team lose only one game all year long on a last second mid-Court shot-remember watching that one.

Forgot about that Willowridge team. I never saw them play but they were stacked.

And Kimball was great every year but I don't think they ever had the star power of that Lincoln team. But if I remember correctly with Sas then Q, Kimball won three straight state titles, right? I know Lincoln, Kimball and South Oak Cliff have won a lot state titles in last twenty years. If throw in DeSoto, Cedar Hill and Duncanville, South Dallas County dominates HS basketball in this state.

That Wilowridge team went undefeated but almost lost one game to FB Dulles. Some big Eskimo lookin kid tried to throw a Hail Mary pass to win the game but Ewing intercepted an went coast to coast to tie the game. Then won it. There was another D-1 guy on that team too but go lost in the schuffle of all the big time recruits.

1969 Sumner High School - St. Louis, Missouri : First African- American high school west of the Mississippi River founded in 1875. Other famous attendees, Arthur Ashe, Chuck Berry. This state champion (large school) team was comprised of :
1) 7'1" David Brent, Center - Went to Jacksonville State for one year. Was drafted #6 in in the NBA by the LA Lakers. Went to Memphis in the ABA instead for a $1 million
guaranty contract in 1972. He found out later that the contract wasn't guaranteed.

2) 6'7" Harry Rogers, Forward - Went to SLU. Was drafted in 4th round NBA by
Milwaukee in 1973.

3) 6'6" Marshall Rogers, Forward - Went to Pan AM U where he became the NCAA's
leading scorer. Drafted 2nd round by the Golden State Warriors.

4) 6'7" William Westfall, Forward - Went to Memphis State. Class of '73 NCAA runner
to UCLA. Drafted in 1st round ABA by the Sprits of St. Louis.

5) 5'8" Lawrence "L'il Bit" Weathers. Starting point guard.

6) 6'8" Clarence Weaver - Bench Player.

7) 6'4" Mack Rush _ Bench Player

I remember this team well as they destroyed the high school I attended in the state finals.

My family Xmas was always back in Chicago and Dads secret way to get out of the family BS was to take me and my cousins to Holiday basketball tournaments. I was lucky enough to see the Kevin Garnet Farragut high team. Garnet, Ronnie Fields, Willie Farley, and Michael Wright was a frosh. What is crazy is that Ronnie Fields was the man on that team....as a Jr. Poor guy broke his neck in his senior year and was a NBDL and Overseas guy his entire career. Ronnie was the best high school player I had ever seen
