Women's team signings

Postby Charleston Pony » Mon May 01, 2017 3:45 pm

Had not seen anything posted and have to admit I don't know much about our incoming class. For those who follow the program more closely, will the ladies be more competitive in the AAC next year?

It's hard to say, without knowing how good the incoming recruits are, but my guess would be yes. The seniors were good players — especially Bolton — were good players, but Travis Mays talked often during the season about the learning curve the team was going through to adapt to the system and what the coaches were asking of them — how to practice, how to compete, etc. So regardless of how quickly the incoming players adjust, the returning players will be far ahead of where they were at the start of last season. Plus, one newcomer — Tiara Davenport — who will have a year of practice with the team under her belt after transferring from LaTech. That, plus the fact that the recruits have gotten some good press, and it seems likely the team will be better.
