Top 10 Rookie Seasons in Europe 2016-17

https://nextstep-basketball.com/top10-euro-rookies-2016-17/

Nic is #2 on the list:

2 Nic Moore (1.0, Enel Brindisi, 24.8 years)

175cm/5-9ft warrior, floor general and pull up assassin. Another player in the line of small grinder guards under 6 feet, possibly taking cues from his older counterpart in Southern Italy, Marques Green. Has devastating range on his 3pt-shot, splashing in shots Steph Curry would be proud of. Shooting 48% from 3pt on 6.0 3FGA/G altogether and an outstanding 43.4% (54.8 eFG%) on mostly difficult pull up jumpers (from 2 & 3). Floor general who commands the offense; always under control, plays smart passes, finds angles. Doesn’t always find the path to the rim but you can’t rattle him, keeps dribble alive effortlessly in tight spaces and patiently finds solutions. High-level feel for the game and basketball IQ.

It would be nice if there was a ceremony planned for next season at one of the games to retire a certain player's number. It needs to happen.

He deserves to have his number retired, but IT and Gene Phillips should go first.

I agree but honoring Nic would send a message to recruits and fans that we are serious about hoops.

IT & Gene Phillips agree with this message.

I hope everyone realizes Gene Phillips was a 3-time SWC POY and that IT was a 1-time SWC POY and 3-time All-SWC Player.

I leave you with this. Less than 8 years after the Vietnam war, our government had a Memorial for them in Washington DC. It took some 60 years for same government to honor its WWII veterans. My father and 3 of his brothers proudly served our country during WWII. By the time our government got around to honoring them, all had either died or were too old to visit.

God bless these 4 heros and I thank you/them for their service and sacrifice!

Also on board with Nic, IT and Gene being honored in this way.

Gene Phillips played when there was no 3 point line. his shots were from way outside. freshman could not play on a varsity team back then. all his freshman points did not count towards his total varsity points.
