His original 247 recruiting account had him as a combo guard at one point. His 247 account lists him as a point guard. ESPN listed him as one as well. Whitt likely has NBA aspirations and knows he is too short for SG. He needs to get his handles together, improve his decision making, and improve shot selection.

I was worried about shooters before we added McMurray. In our offense McMurray should be a very high percentage shooter. Also, Jarrey has developed in a solid shooter and should continue to develop next year as a shooter. And we all know Shake can shoot the lights out. Maybe not quite the shooting team we were last year, but think we will still be a good shooting team especially if Whitt has improved his jumper. Most of the freshman are thought to be good shooters (especially Douglas and Chargois).

Also, Whitt was a Combo Guard out of HS. He has pretty solid handles, but is thought to be more comfortable off-ball. Don't think he is a true PG, but i'm sure he can play there comfortably for stretches in a game and if he does have NBA dreams then he either needs to play PG at somepoint or start shooting over 42% from 3.
