What are your thoughts? The NCCA is horribe. I still can't believe we are having to give up scholarships.

Not surprised..

4 scholarships over 4 years... (6 total since they self-imposed 2). We got 9, that is the only part that pisses me off. They weren't going to give them another post-season ban, but they could have at least made the penalty sting a little.
I guess vacating a National Title does sting, but still. Be interested to see if they keep the banner up.

Seems rather light to me in comparison to what SMU and LB got.

Funny how one of Pitino's recruits is now enrolling at SMU (Akoy).

Also, their violations occurred both before and after the new punishment regime was put in place. According to the NCAA release when they put the new rules in place they said that violations that straddled the rule change would be subject to the more lenient punishment.

We won't know if it's light or not until the NCAA clarifies if the wins to be vacated will also require Louisville to take down its 2013 NCAA Championship banner.

The lost revenue due to years of forfeited NCAA $ shares is also not insubstantial.

SMU made the right decision and has positioned itself to bridge the probation gap. We are poised to continue our longest competitive period since Doc Hayes over a half century ago

Would have liked to see what the team with Nic would have done if SMU had appealed to delay the ban. Just my viewpoint. Especially since the entire recruiting class that year is now gone anyway after just one season.Well at least the NCAA accepted the Louisville self imposed ban.
