Obviously ridiculously early and no doubt will be way off what it looks like in March, but interesting to see some of the national perspective at this point:

No mention in here, with Houston in and UCF just out.

I'm surprised at the sense nationally SMU is going to fall off the map this season.

Trash. UH being predicted in over SMU and UCF is bad. We were expected to fall of last year too..

Seems like they are looking more as to what teams lost rather than what teams have coming in. No big deal at this stage.

All they see is Gray and Houston and Fall at UFC.

So WSU is going to cruise through the AAC and secure a #2 seed? Obviously the folks at CBS like them, but really?

USC fans are pleased to see a projected #3 seed.

I'm more stunned that he has TCU in and not us.

Obviously, we follow SMU and the AAC much closer than most national guys but if you really breakdown the teams there is no way you can say UCF is better than us. Houston, too. Our respect nationally is still not there.

We won't get national respect until we start doing damage in the tournament

Yep. A majority of the national media still expects SMU to have a post-LB decline. But if they really looked at what is going on here they would be surprised. We have actually had a bump in recruiting and that trend looks to continue.

I don't think its absurd for the media to expect us to drop off this year after losing Semi, Ben, and Sterling from a 6-man rotation

I'm amazed that anyone expects much out of UCONN.
They HAD Larrier and Gilbert in the lineup when they [deleted] the bed with an 0-2 start against Smurfs last year. The pressure is on in Storrs.

Which means we only get to play three guys this year.

Just saying there's a lot of unknowns this season:

How good is Whitt? (I think he'll be pretty good)
Can Agau give us 25-30 minutes of productivity each night?
Can at least two of the freshmen be relied on for significant minutes off the bench?
Can Shake be "the man" when we need a big bucket?
