Firing him this early in the process must mean there are going to be some very ugly details come to light soon. They need strip the title from Louisville and ban Pitino from D1 for life.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

To Quote General "Buck" Turgidson: "We-he-ell, uh, I'd like to hold off judgement on a thing like that, sir, until all the facts are in."

And

"Well, I, uh, don't think it's quite fair to condemn a whole program because of a single slip-up, sir. "

Pitino Fired?

Postby mrydel » Wed Sep 27, 2017 1:36 pm

I am sure he will be fired but I believe at this time he is on unpaid indefinite suspension, as is the AD.

Edit: I see now that if he is fired he must be given 10 days notice and the right to be heard. Thus the indefinite unpaid suspension.

Could this be the story that finally exposes the hypocrisy of College athletics?, Hope so but doubt it.

I do hope the storyline does not become Louisville and Pitino, whom I would have some degree of sympathy for.

One thing that always struck with me during the immediate DP days was the media trying to present 2 sides to the SMU story. Those who 'defended' SMU invariably would say, "I just glad there aren't more SMU's out there". That always got to me as there were over 100 SMU's out there back then and still today.

The real question and the only one that matters to me is:

Will this increase our chances of making it to the Final Four?

Well it is my understanding that the investigation is now heading to Nike, and assumed to also go to UnderArmor. Hopefully we are clean.

This is going to expose the whole thing. It is going to affect a ton of programs. The Feds have jail time to waive at people to get them to talk and they WILL talk. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Will be interesting to see it all play out, but I doubt many programs will be spared.

We did good not taking our top recruit who went to China supposedly due to a money deal so maybe we have been good little boys.

Dont think any shoe company would steer a recruit to a small private school not in a power conference. Hopefully we are clean on this particular scandal.

Amen to that.

I may get burned by this naive opinion, but if we were dirty we wouldn't have lost a three star recruit to tech.

Underarmour deserves whatever they get. Hope they get slammed.

And I have no idea how anyone could have sympathy for Petino.
