just curious, how many programs do to you think have athletes who receive illegal payments or schools that break the rules in regards to admission / grades?
Then there is “University 6” which is described in a way that resembles the University of Louisville and only the University of Louisville, linking it to a $100,000 payout for one recruit and a potential $150,000 payout for another, all while on probation for a scandal involving using prostitutes to lure other recruits. “University 6” doesn’t appear to be in any legal trouble, yet, but the NCAA is another story.
If the above doesn't scream death penalty, but we know:

Will this increase our chances of making it to the Final Four?
^^^ THIS!
I was going to ask if the Cardinals would be censured for having a payroll or for lack of institutional control but after thinking it over believe it likely there is a previously unknown NCAA rule instituted in time to let hem walk like UNC.
Or maybe the guys in Indianapolis will just wash their hands because the Feds are on the job.

Once again, Feds will ask these players...'we see you didn't report these $100k & $150k payments as income, you never made it to the NBA and now you are flat broke, wanna talk?'

A penalty so severe the NCAA is loathe to use it again, yet gostangs thinks we are not worthy of any sympathy.....ok
We were guilty. Red handed guilty. The other dirty programs deserved more harsh penalties - for sure, but we did it, knew about it, and decided to keep doing it. Wish it didn't happen, wish we didn't make it worse, but no - we don't deserve sympathy.
Pitino knew about the ho's, and I bet he knew about this also. Don't waste any time giving this sleeze any sympathy.
