I stopped listening long ago, but did Rice really finish the game on a 14-1 run? Did they pour it on purposely or are we that pitiful?

Ok. Enough's enough. COPELAND, DO SOMETHING! We have WAY too much talent for this crap to be happening. This is embarrassing. The buck stops with the coach... and that's Dement, plain and simple. He's ruined talent and morale one too many seasons. It's time to step aside.

From smumustangs.com

The loss snapped an eight-game win streak over Rice for SMU, as the Owls had last defeated the Mustangs in the 1998-99 season. The game was the most lopsided contest in the history of the series between the two schools which spans 85 seasons and 176 games.

The 40-point loss also represents the biggest conference loss for SMU since joining the WAC and ties for the third-largest loss in school history. The previous WAC record was a 30-point loss at San Jose State on Feb. 18, 2001, when SMU fell 81-51, and the last 40-point loss came on Feb. 3, 1990, when TCU handled the Mustangs, 83-43.

The 40-point output represents SMU's lowest point total since the 1989-90 season when the Ponies defeated UT-Arlington, 36-31, and its lowest output ever in WAC game. No Mustang reached double figures.

OK. I understand that Rice is supposed to have a pretty good team this year. But anyone who has ever been to that junior high school gym that Rice plays in knows that SMU should always be better than Rice if only because of the facilities. People complain about Moody, but that Rice court is attrocious.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Lose to San Diego. Beat Tech. Take Wake to the wire. Lose to App State. Beat Purdue. Get killed at OSU. Get killed at Rice.

This is the most schizophrenic team I can remember. Time for some new leadership.

I picked up the paper this morning and looked for the score and thought it was a misprint. 40 points cries the word, "quitter". A team that loses to a Top 5 team by less than 5 and loses by 40 to a decent but not world class Rice team (who themselves were embarrassed by Tulsa on Sat.)showed they just didn't care. I could understand even a 15 point loss. But 40 points. No other word for it but quitters. Fire the whole team sign-up the Frat league champs to play out the rest of the schedule, they couldn't do much worse.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
