Now THAT is newsworthy :D

Your use of "catastrophe" now applies to hiring this guy in the first place - that sure didn't work out so well...

Well, he got his son on a no-doubt tourney team.

They might actually win a game too.

Yes, we can always go out and get more people and recruit new players.
But we hired the kid's dad just so he would come here and it blew up in our face. That is the definition of a f--- up.

\
It only blew up b/c Dad didn't show up and do his job. Guy is used to high school and by all reports, couldnt handle the grind. He basically refused to travel. He was a dead weight bum who needed to go, tyrese or not. Beyond that, he was in a created position, so his impact was minimal. The only true loss here is maybe a years worth of salary. When you get rid of him before cycle, no worries.

Even if it never had a chance of happening it's still bad optics, but what the hell, onward and upward! #PonyUp

me too. The biggest mistake here wasnt hiring Maxey it was prioritizing a kid like Maxey in the first place, Ball dominant. doesnt share and volume shoots. Great player but for a program buiult on sharing the ball, wasnt feeling his fit

So.... I actually watched him play one time and will share a few thoughts. I'm not a hoops insider so take it with a grain of salt. Here were my note from the game:

- extremely athletic
- can drive to the rim
- can score at the rim
- very average/poor shooter at the high school level
- does not create for anyone else
- honestly was worried we are pinning our hopes on this one player

Disappointed that we tried to play that whole hire the dad game. Wreaks of desperation.
