impressive Wichita St. traveling fan base for Maui-looks like about 2,000 wearing black and yellow

Don't sell your season tickets on Stubhub--find an SMU fan if necessary

Gregg Marshall has had opportunities to leave WSU for a big bump in pay but he is being patient. Who knows? Maybe he and his family have come to love Kansas?

He has got a very good gig there now. With WSU joining the AAC it helps them quite a bit. Now they can have one or even 2 bad losses and still get in the tournament. In the missouri valley, WSU pretty much had to go undefeated.

Glad they are in the conference.

Surprised the big east didnt try and grab them.

Not many places would give him a big bump in pay outside the blue bloods he makes like 3.3ish Million a year. He loves it there and I don’t think he will leave for a couple hundred thousand extra. I doubt he leaves for anything less than KU, UK, UNC, or Duke

There is value in staying in a place where you are a legend. He has 100% job security there forever and He can have a lasting legacy at the university (think names on library's stadiums ect). You go to a "bigger job" and it doesn't work out you will be out on the street in 3-4 years. As long as they are paying you close to fair market rate I'd take that security over a potentially temporary pay bump. Obiously the best situation is to be a legend at a blue chip but those are rare, izzo, Coach K, and Calapari and or Self though i'm pretty sure calapari and self might get booted if they had 3-4 non tournament or bubble tournament years in a row (which won't happen.

I remember College of Charleston "hiring" Marshall after his early success at Winthrop, only to have him quit before he started citing "family considerations" and wanting to stay at Winthrop. Reality was that while CofC was "coming home" (where he had been an assistant to John Kresse), it was pretty much a lateral move between one bid leagues. I agree with those who say WSU's move to the AAC could be a game changer for Marshall, but he's always struck me as an ambitious guy but very calculating in terms of his career moves. Hope he stays and WSU helps keep the AAC strong.

Leaving Baylor appears to have done wonders for Allerik Freeman. NC State hanging in with Arizona. Nine to go.
