The incredible shrinking Shake Milton

The most surprising part of the season so far is the total unreliability of Shake.
I'm not even expecting him to carry us or anything like that, but he's been a big disappointment.
He was nearly a liability during this tournament. What's going on?

Shrinking implies growing smaller.

I mean it’s been the knock on him as a draft prospect. Can he be THE GUY? Doesn’t look like it right now. Love Shake, but he’s too laissez faire at times.

This team and young, but this is a bad loss. You can ignore UNI with the Zona win, but not now. Awful loss.

he is still going to need more physical strength to be effective in the NBA

Well he's the AAC preseason player of the year. He should be able to do some damage against middling G5 teams. Guess not.

12-45 26.6% for the tournament, and the costly missed FT at the end. Yikes.

This is a disappointing loss, but it’s not the end of the world. Jank will grow this team. They’ll get better. It was a tough loss. It hurts to lead the whole game and blow it at the end - especially since we should have won. UNI isn’t a bad team or a bad loss, and while we absolutely should have won, WKU did beat a Top 25 team yesterday too.

We’ll be OK. It’s November. Losing games we should win in February and March is a lot worse than in November.

No suicide watch necessary. Shake will be fine. The team will be fine.

Shake is going to see defenses designed to take him out of games all year. He's not a one on one take control of the game kind of player too many expect him to be. He will be fine and just watch how much better he will be if/when we have yet another scoring threat on the court with him in McMurray. Yes, this was a disappointing tournament but we beat Arizona and that's the one most of us had hoped for...just didn't happen the way we thought it would. Just think of how disappointed Arizona fans are. They must be questioning their NBA prospects as well.

Well we missed the tournament when we were ranked so losses are kind of important now that Wichita St is here and Cincy is up this year. It's going to be a war to get to the NCAA tournament. I don't see it.

I’d rather beat the teams we’re supposed to and lose the ones we’re supposed to.

Said this in the game thread:

Is Shake more comfortable as a third option? I really think so.
We’ve been spoiled with guys like Nic, Sterling, Markus and Semi.

Those guys want the ball at crunch time. I love Shake but I just don’t see him as “the guy.”
