Don't the Mavericks charge media for food?

They hired Larry in 2012 and increased the prices 25%. In 2013 they introduced the donation requirement but left seat prices the same. In 2014 they increased ticket prices 120%. In 2015 they made the donation requirement a per seat requirement.

My seats in 2011 - $1,080
My seats in 2015 - $10,500

Why does anyone think that this reseat is the end?

Believe at the last information session, they said the plan is to do another one in 4 years after the 18-19 reseating.

Fairly certain you would need to compete at a higher level to achieve that consistently.

How does this compare with top schools like Duke, Ky. and L'ville? Best I could find on internet was that Duke was the most expensive, Kentucky $6300/ season and L'ville. at $594 per game. I suspect these prices are from 2016 season.
My opinion is that we are pricing our tickets like we are a basketball 'blueblood' and yet our results both season wise and tourney wise are far from being equal to these schools. JMHO.

Mustangsaba, the numbers you quoted are accurate. As I said in my posts, I will always be a fan but not at Moody. I will watch on TV but they will have to get better to get more TV time.

It is a personal choice for all SMU fans to make and I respect that. Other programs are far more expensive, and if we start winning NCs and being NCAA regulars with deep runs I'm sure the data will suggest that if prices go up then people will pay them. In my opinion there should be more to the issue than "market value" but that is my choice.

I still love my Ponies. I felt for them yesterday. My 4 year old is not used to being in Moody for a loss, let alone a butchering.

If only they could just tell me: 1) pay this much for your seats; or 2) give them up to someone who will. The current scheme reads like some sort of MLM scam. I'm going to miss being a season ticket holder, but I'm not going to engage in the nonsense anymore. My wife and I can still attend every game in similar seats at a much lower cost and with a lot more flexibility. I'm willing to pay for nostalgia, but there has to be a limit...

...and to top it off donations which are used to calculate seat preferences are no longer tax deductible-which is in fact another huge increase in actual expense

SMU Record for the four seasons leading up to 2011 (since everyone is using that season): 56-72

And then for the four leading up to this season: 109-27

How difficult of a concept is it that if there is more demand, the school is going to raise prices? Either pay it or don't. If you don't, chances are there is someone out there who will. Or just get cheaper seats. I don't understand how people are surprised that their courtside seats are no longer cheap.

Is it ironic that this season is collapsing and they just announced it? Yeah, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be happening. The school should be trying to maximize revenue so maybe it's not just a few big donors paying for everything. Everyone wants a competitive athletic department. This is the price.

Besides, everyone on here went to SMU. You can afford it :D
