JasonB wrote:Jank made a mistake by not subbing out McMurray until it was too late. They absoutely abused him on the post in the comeback, and he turned the ball over several times trying to force it on the offensive end.

Needed to stay with a big like Ray rather than keeping him on the bench the second half.

Learning experience, but this is a frustrating loss.

Agree That was a problem, he should have gone to Douglas there at least. Also we missed some shots down the stretch, some bad calls, and Tulane didn’t miss.

Also we only had 10 assists, that is not smu basketball.

Road games are always tough, Chargois would have solve the problem
Of that game. But we played way to much 1v1 on offense, and got some tough breaks down the stretch.

We just lost our margins for any more errors if we hope to make the tournament.

Give Tulane all the credit. Solid second half. Reynolds and Frazier were outstanding.

Put this one on jank. Terrifies me it took him to long to realize McMurray was getting abused inside. NIT. Can’t wait to see how the reseat goes.

Major takeaways from me:

1) Shake is a great player, but is a CHOKER at the FT late in games.. Whitt missing at least he sucks at the FT line.. Shake doesn't have that excuse.

2) As mentioned above, Jank needed to take out McMurray earlier. It would have been a much easier decision if we had Chargois, but Mcmurray struggled on O and was abused on D.

Besides that Tulane was so hot. Part of that was picking on our weakness on D and we didn't adjust fast enough.

This. And give Dunleavy some credit.

I’ll give Tulane credit they executed against our line up. That said if a team is getting enough good looks to shoot 70% you have to change the defense earlier. That is on jank. Also that was a brutal call on GU. Also we missed some decent looks down the stretch and you can’t miss the front end of one and ones.

We proved we can’t beat anyone away from Moody. I predict one and done in the NCAA tournament.

Yeah. Our poor Free throw shooting was bound to cost us one sooner or later.

Losing sucks, but the team can redeem themselves with a win at Cincy. I think now we have a better shot at getting focused for this next game.

We will be lucky to get into the tourney. I don’t see how. If we can beat Tulane on the road then all we got is USF and ECU on the road. Too many losses predicted now. Let’s just hope we can stay undefeated at Moody.
