I won't predict individual games but, given the current inconsistency, I see ten losses in the regular season as
a best case scenario. How does this team, without Jarrey, go 7-2 with this schedule? I don't see it. If 10 or 11 losses get us in....so be it.

If we have 6 top 50 wins AND don't take any more sub-100 losses (Tulsa, Memphis, East Carolina, USF) then we have a pretty good shot IMO. If you look at the teams that we are competing with for the last 8 or so spots, only a couple have as many as 4 top 50 wins right now (which we currently have). Unfortunately Houston is right on that top 50 bubble (currently RPI 49), so beating them once or twice will knock them out of the top 50, but at the same time would move us past them in the pecking order to get in of course.

We better at least split with them...which I think we can do. Then I'd hope for opposite sides of the ACC tourney bracket: us at 3 and Houston/UCF at 4-5. That's asking alot...I know!

The other 48

21. The American

Playing for seeding: Cincinnati and Wichita State
Bubble: Houston, SMU and Temple

I love the Cougars. I’m not sure anyone who watches Houston couldn’t see the Cougars as an NCAA tournament team. The win over Wichita State should give Houston great comfort. So should a victory over Providence on a neutral court. The Cougars could use one more elite win (see: Cincinnati) to put them at ease.

The Mustangs have something Houston doesn’t — a road win over Wichita State. SMU also has a win over Arizona on a neutral court and one over USC. The issues with the Mustangs have been injuries and a losing skid. The loss to Tulsa Thursday night was another example. There is time to recover.

Temple is an intriguing case. Its record won’t wow you and the Owls lost five in a row at one point. But Temple has wins over Old Dominion, Auburn and Clemson on neutral courts to start the season, as well as victories against South Carolina, at SMU and over Wichita State at home. If you just watched Temple beat UConn and Wichita State this past week, you would put them in without question. This is the team to keep an eye on more than any other bubble team.

My prediction: 4

In a play-in game according to Palm. If they survive that, Kentucky in San Diego? https://www.cbssports.com/college-baske ... cketology/

I am being very positive here. NYC would be just fine given our "condition."

But as another poster suggested: that road might have to go through Fort Worth. God please no.

NIT seems very likely considering our current lineup. Might as well make the best of it and host a home game or two.
