SMU basketball - related info

You may know that Desoto, Jesuit, and South Garland high schools have all advanced to
the Texas state basketball tournaments.

Last night Jesuit won its first round game 68-47 over Lakeview Centennial. Young
Jankovich scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds.

South Garland beat Richardson, and young Maxey had 17 points. So. Garland is ranked
5th in the state.

I didn't find a box score for Desoto, but they won their first round game.

All 3 teams will be moving into the 2nd round either tonight or Friday. Also of note -
I saw Denton Guyer win against Plano a week ago. Denton Guyer is rated No. 1 in Texas
and No. 1 in the nation. Three of their players have committed so far. One for Kansas,
one for Oklahoma, and one for Georgetown. Guyer also won its first round game.

yeah and Desoto who I believe is No. 6 is playing No. 1 Denton Guyer so that will be a tough game for DeSoto

TW - that would be good, but I believe someone on the board mentioned that
Jank said he would rather go somewhere else. It can be tough on a coach to deal
with an added problem - but if the kid continues to score like he did last night - it
would be a wonderful problem to have. Young Jank has been a leading player for
Jesuit all year, but I haven't seen him play.

HAs anyone on the board seen him play?

Odds that the sons of Coach Jank and Coach Maxey both go elsewhere?? It would be very SMU for that to happen.

That would be a much bigger indictment on Jankovich than SMU.

If we miss on Maxey that is on the staff. If Jank's son wants to be a scholarship player elsewhere then I don't blame Jank. That isn't on Jank. Having Jank's son as a walk-on would be nice, but he isn't a high priority at all.

Hunt and Young lost to #1 team in the state Denton Guyer tonight 48-45 in a defensive battle.

Hunt and Young each had 12pts. De'vion Harmon the star 2019 OU commit had 15 points. Georgetown signee Grayson Carter had 11points.

Feron Hunt with the breakaway dunk-he's going to add a new dimension in the open court with his height, athleticism and finishing skills

Him and Mike are going to blow the lid off Moody at times with their athleticism and dunks. Hunt is a great 3/4 hybrid prospect. Once he adds some weight he will be a crazy mismatch.
