The team will probably need those 11 days to recover from the brutal non-conference schedule.

How much of the responsibility goes on the AD regarding this schedule?

I see 8 wins in the conference schedule and wouldn’t be shocked if we only win 6........

I see 25-27 wins this season and the NIT.

That's a joke, right? 25 wins means we will have had a good season in AAC play and would translate to a NCAA bid as one of our league's top teams.

An NCAA bid will not be had this year due to our OOC schedule, but yes I believe we will be good enough to deserve a ticket to the Dance.

Um, that means we would be top half of our league in a down year. NIT at best this year

Jank gets an extension and the slow death of SMU basketball continues

114 the ticket office has two available seats on the aisle about 5 grand.

I hope they don't lose a whole lot but it won't matter to me I'll still come to a couple of the games for like $29Image

AAC might be down compared to last year, but to win 25-27 games would mean we either swept our non-conference schedule or went something like 10-2/15-3 and maybe won a game or two in the AAC Tourney. I don't think Cincy, UCF, Wichita State, Houston are so far down that they wont be competitive this season. I don't see us winning more than 20 games, but if we do get to 25-27, this team will be dancing in March. Call me out if it happens (25-27 wins and a NIT bid), but I will believe that if/when I see it. I'm expecting something like 9-3/10-8/1-1 for a 20-12 finish and that NIT bid. If Jarrey doesn't make it back or we have injuries like we suffered last year, then all bets are off but I think this year's team is going to (pleasantly) surprise people and that SMU will be a tough out at Moody.

Last year was the down year. Yes, top half of our league. And I said NIT.

There’s no denying that this team has the talent to compete in the AAC, and I do expect them to finish in the upper-middle range (4-6) of the conference because of it. In terms of post-season play, however, between a relatively-down AAC that will probably only have 2-3 NCAA Tournament bids and the Mustang’s unimpressive non-con slate, I wouldn’t bet on this being the year that they return to the Big Dance – the NIT seems more realistic for the time being.

Still, if the freshmen and transfers play to their ceilings and everyone can stay healthy, there’s definitely a chance that this team could surprise and go on to bust some brackets.

if that is the best we can do then I hope Jank is updating his resume. This program is a long way from where it was when LB was shown the door.
