Yeah, I like that the first 130 at the game get to sit in that section. No points crap.

Yep. Should’ve been that way the whole time.

This approach will help identify how many truly committed student fans we have...after all, some will have to help carry on the tradition of the 1500 after they graduate.

Mob needs to step up this year. My observations, based only by watching on TV, is that their energy was marginal for most of the games and not sustained in most of the truly important games. Huge drop off from the glory years. Hopefully, this new system allows students who have a true interest in the games to get the good seats and re-energize the scene.

I’m not defending the schedule at all. It is complete garbage, but our students and fans need to show up to see our team, not the opponent. I can’t wait to see Hunt and Mike play against anyone. And hopefully the improvement of Chaggy and Douglas.

Agree. I always looked at "soft scheduling" as an opportunity to see the entire roster get some minutes.

Yes, but I’m not giving Jank a pass because the schedule reeks of a coach trying to pad his win total. Our players and fans deserve better. Still, it is not a good excuse for people not to show up. We have a talented roster that will be fun to watch and should compete for the AAC title. Plus, outside of the many cupcakes, we have the hated frogs which might be the biggest game in any sport held at SMU this year, and we have the usual AAC powers coming to town. It will be up to the students and fans to make Moody a special like it can be.

There's no mob without LB..
They need to come up with a new name.

The Suarez or something.

Based on Jank’s handling of the Thorpe recruitment I hereby suggest:

The Regrets.

I'm repeating myself - the first few years Moody was newly opened when I had floor seats, I couldn't believe I was at an SMU athletic event it was BIG time.

It's difficult to watch a slow death.

I agree with you. We can't get out of our own way. Students are actually interested in a sport at SMU? Let's use the interest to force them to attend other sports and kill the momentum. We actually have fans in Dallas interesting in going to the games? Let's not pay the guy who created the environment because we want a little higher profit, and let's change the pricing structure so we can chase our newly found fans away.

LA, I hear what you are saying, but I think Jank is just conservative. If he wins 20 but just finishes .500 in conference, it won't save his job. NCAA appearances are the expectation. In fact, I would argue that if he starts 13-0 and finishes 20-10, the expectations built after an undefeated start will put his position MORE at risk.

It was surreal and unfortunately SMU destroyed it way too soon.
