He no longer is. But Paul Ward is generally SMU's go to legal guy for such things

Our AD apparently does not believe in paying for performance. Obviously if that were the case he would be taking a big pay cut.

It is going to be very very interesting when SD is no longer being paid by ca. Especially if he starts putting together winning seasons. Will the admin. pay him and crap on the assistants or will he be gone and we start the process over again?

All of that was pretty well illustrated in the brochure sent out and the website and also articulated in the one on one meetings.

As for Sonny, seems like we'd find the $ as we did with Chad. He had $ for assistants too esp as to DC but chose not to use it.

Also, I think red misspelled "the same six donors that have kept the program afloat for 30 years" as "admin."

and if you include last year we fall below 80%. Also- of those teams listed how many years have they been to the ncaa tourney vs. SMUs number of invites?

IMO it is easy to put figures together to look good when in reality we are not competitive with most of those teams and their overall success.

I was shocked they didn't include a table of NCAA tournament wins.

Guys, hating on the administration is possibly open game. But be careful you’re not hating on your own school.

2018-19 Men's Basketball Seating and Hospitality1
Prior to the 2018-19 men's basketball season, the Department of Athletics will conduct a reseating of all current men's basketball season ticket holders in Moody Coliseum. This process will encompass every men's basketball season ticket holder and all seats throughout Moody Coliseum. Seat selection ranking will be based upon total annual Athletics giving, donor rank and priority points. The deadline for donations is March 31, 2018, and the reseat process will commence in May 2018. Also effective for the 2018-19 men's basketball season, per-seat donation requirements will increase for seats in section 104 and all 200 level sections. Finally, access to the Miller Champions Club will no longer be tied to seat location; rather, access to the Miller Champions Club will be available to donors with a S15,000 (Triple Crown-level) gift or higher to the Mustang Club plus a S700 per ticket food & beverage fee. Access to the Hall of Fame Club will be available to season ticket holders in the first 12 rows of section 208 as well as donors with a S10,000 (Thoroughbred-level) gift or higher to the Mustang Club plus a S700 per ticket food & beverage fee.
We seek to achieve three primary goals as a result of these changes:
1. recognize the value of all investments in support of SMU Athletics,
2. generate resources required to pursue competitive excellence, and
3. ensure that seat locations align with donors' investment levels.
As we introduce these changes, we anticipate that questions will arise. By beginning this process now, we will have ample time to work with you in advance of the Moody Coliseum reseating process. Here are just a few of the ways that we will address questions and provide guidance related to this process:
In-person visits Personal phone calls Information sessions E-mail correspondence 2018-19 Mustang Club brochure
In-game informational tours during the
2017-18 season
Website outlining details and FAQs
Unique email address devoted to the
reseat process: moodyseatinq@smu.edu

I don't see anything about loyal fans, only money grabbing logic.

Isn't that a significant increase over last year? I had a colleague who I believe gave about $5K MC donation for two seats plus season ticket cost. No F&B fee. Is the $15K minimum for one or more tickets?

If this is a significant price increase, is the Miller Champions Club much less crowded?

Had dinner in the Miller Club last night. I would be pissed if I had paid what ever the outrages amount was charged to people. The food was second rate at best.
