Froling Tabbed To Honor Roll For Fourth Straight Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU/AAC) – Kayla White was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week after leading the Mustangs in scoring with 14.5 points per game.

The DeSoto, Texas, native scored 17 points to lead SMU to a win against North Texas, and followed it up with her sixth double-digit scoring performance, finishing with 12 at Northern Colorado. The guard shot 37.5 percent from the field for the week and made a pair of 3-pointers. White had a team-high four steals against the Bears. The guard finished the week with six rebounds and two assists.

Senior Alicia Froling was named to the league's weekly honor roll for the fourth straight week. She averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. With her 10th rebound against North Texas, Froling set a new SMU career rebounds record with 975. The Queensland, Australia, native currently has 988 rebounds, needing 12 to become the first women's player at SMU and only the third player in school history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.

Overall, White is 20th in the conference with 12.0 points per game this season. Froling leads the league in rebounds, 11.6 per game, and blocks, 22. She is 11th with 13.8 points per game and ranks 10th, shooting 53.7 percent from the field.
