Conspiricy Theory

I think they just named the court after David Miller to keep him happy. He has his name on the outside of the club for giving 20 million, so unless he just coughed up some more coin, why the court? It did get him to give Jank a vote of confidence, which is never a positive.

A public vote of confidence should not be construed as anything more than rhetoric that fits the situation. I'm this case, DBM was playing the game. I will share you he is deeply into the game and more than a little concerned.

You are probably right about it being a concession and show of good faith. Lose him and you lose all “revenue” for basketball. 2nd point disagree. People showed him visually distraught at the games. What’s the point of having your name on or in the building if no one is there to see it?

Having his name on the court is a lot more prestigious than the club, so I think it's more than deserved. He's about the only reason SMU basketball surged to some degree of relevance, even if we managed to completely waste the opportunity. Hopefully he's willing to keep throwing good money after bad or we'll be in even more trouble.

Does anyone have an overall list of the SMU areas, buildings and facilities, to say nothing of departments and colleges named for donors?

I'm thankful for David Millers generosity that helped make the new Moody possible, but you heard in his speech that they were surprised by the move.

As others have said, this thing is oficially dead. Conference is going to be brutal.

How old is Miller? In other words how much longer can we depend on his cash payments to keep SMU basketball alive?

David Miller and I graduated the same year, so he is about 68 years old.
