Jank has to go, right?

Seems more and more obvious that he’s completely in over his head. Not sure what retaining him for 2019-2020 would accomplish, besides providing even more empty seats and shorter concession lines at Moody.

Just curious, how long is his contract, and much is his buyout??? Sorry, if this has been discussed elsewhere...

If they keep this staff on board for next year, they will be looking at about 500 people per game in Moody and about 20 losses. End the misery.

I think the only question is if they have found a donor to pay the buyout. I'm sure it will cost a couple million to do. Miller will help with the cost of the new coach.

This is just an educated guess. I have no idea if there is a lesser buyout figure but if not:

2 years remaining at 1.7 million per (yes, Jank is paid as a major college HC. And this is after being the highest paid assistant coach in the country for four years). Staff is probably around 1 million per, just assuming they are under contract for the next two years also.

So that is approx 5.4 million to buyout the staff. Then whatever the new staff will require which will be in the same ballpark but probably slightly less.

Attendance drops 4,000 per game vs. two years ago, at a conservative average price of $50 per ticket, including required donations, that $200k per game. We had 20 home games this year, that's $4 million per year if we keep Jank.

If there had never been any re-seat and prices all would have been the same, would that have changed the outcome at all ?

Perhaps a couple of less pitchforks but I think the outcome is the same.
So that's definitely on the current staff .

If a person re-upped or got tickets during the re-seat was it a 1 year deal, or did you have to commit for 3 years?

One year, but the rules said you had to keep your same donation next year to keep your seats even if it was more than your seats required.

Pretty sure they won't enforce that one though!

I suspect they are going to be pretty flexible on next years seating. If not the place will resemble a morgue. We need to hope that Miller et al will step up and get rid of Jank as soon as the whistle blows on our 1 and out loss. The search needs to start in earnest very quickly. IMO we need another pied piper similar to LB (but without the baggage). A coach who recruits will want to play for and who can actively recruit, coach and win.

So, the ones who did not renew get screwed the second time if they do not enforce the same rules we decided to exit from.

The idiots in the Hart department will keep it I'm sure. The reseat with no tourney wins and LB leaving was beyond dumb.

If it takes $5mm or more then prepare yourselves for rock bottom. I would not blame any individual or small group for not wanting to light that on fire. The recruiting is already so bad who cares honestly. Maybe one more year will get Rick fored somehow someway.
