TCU, the FBI and cheating? No way.

The NCAA is so mad at TCU, they’ll put SMU on probation.

So...

Jank has made it clear that he won't cheat, he wants to run a completely clean program, and he steers away from kids that are accepting money. It *could* be a reason why he backs off recruits for unknown reasons, if the kid's handlers ask for a handout. Not saying that is the case, but it could be something...

He's also indicated several programs that he knows are cheating. And several programs I've heard folks from the school mention have turned up in the FBI report.

Is that ultimately what buys him more time from the school to play the "long game" in terms of recruiting? How much will the school still stick with that vision when many of us don't renew season tickets next year?

Has basketball become the Nascar of college athletics? If you're not cheating, you're not trying?

Personally, I think that if you are running a clean program, you can still get the 150-250 ranked players. You don't have to slide all the way down to DITR. I'd be curious to know how deep you go into the recruiting pool before you get to players you don't have to bribe.

I know a lot of folks on this board don't care about being banned again and would rather us cheat. But I would kind of rather have an athletics program.

I’d rather cheat than roll out the product we have this season

None of these schools will bet in trouble. Will all fall on the individuals. Meanwhile the NCAA ruined Janks career with the most sanctions ever imposed.

It’s not cheating if everyone is doing it. It’s competing!

We may be in last place but at least we run a clean program.

What impact would allowing 18 year olds enter the NBA have on this? I would imagine it's the one and dones that can generate the most income. If they have a direct path to the NBA and don't have to go the college route, is there enough $ in the next tier to continue the practice or do all the dirty coaches and staffers look for NBA jobs.

That's exactly what Wade at LSU was caught saying on tape. The kid/agent/family was wanting a "one and done" type of bribe, but he was only offering the "2-3 year player" deal. It's almost like the NFL rookie slotting salary based on draft position.

What happened during the last FBI probe ~1yr ago? Virtually nothing?
