Not a huge pickup but much better than anyone we had gotten before this spring. I do like all the spring additions. I’m curious who is transferring given we are now at 14 scholarships even taking into account Whitt’s departure.

Wasn't there a Charles Smith in the 1980s that was a top national player? I want to say Charles "Big-Time" Smith or something. Are they related?

You are thinking of Charles Smith the New Mexico SG that went in first round to the Miami Heat in the '97 draft. He was from Ft. Worth Dunbar. Recruited by Dave Bliss to NM. Faced off against the Pnies on a number of occasions in the 90s back in the WAC days.

Don't think there is a relation - but not positive.

Too bad Dave Bliss wasn't still at SMU so he could have recruited him to play for the Ponies!

Reeling in the guards so have to believe a couple (beyond Whitt & McMurray) on last year's roster will be leaving.

The Charles Smith I remember was a Forward that played college basketball at Pittsburgh and then went on to play for Clippers, Knicks notably on the 1993-94 NBA Finals squad, and then the San Antonio Spurs. Career 14.4 PPG and 5.8 RPG
