From ESPN.com:

Oklahoma State hires brother of No. 2 prospect
Jeff Borzello
ESPN Staff Writer

Oklahoma State made a significant move in the basketball recruiting world on Tuesday, hiring the older brother of No. 2-ranked rising senior Cade Cunningham as its new assistant coach.

Cannen Cunningham, 26, played at SMU from 2011-15, and spent last season at Tulane as the associate director of video operations under Mike Dunleavy Sr.

I thought recruits couldn't sign unless family member had been hired 24 months prior. That being said I posted on here after Dunleavy got fired we should hire Cannen or Shawn Williams.

I wonder if OKState really thinks it can sign his brother, who supposedly is considering Kentucky, Kansas and Duke, and might instead be hiring Cannen for his contacts with future recruits ... which is the reason I was hope we poach Cunningham or hire Williams next time there's an opening.

That is for “off court” assistant positions (I.e. recruiting director or director of basketball ops etc). You can hire a family member and still get the recruit if you hire them as one of your 3 full fledge assistants.

Just another example of how stupid we are. Should've hired him already.

Didn’t work too well with Maxxey. Jank probably couldn’t find $100k.

This is an SMU basketball letterman though so I think he would be much more interested in helping SMU attract top talent.

Maybe the day will come when SMU has an alum coaching bball and trying to bring other alumni onto his staff. I agree they might be a little more invested in recruiting kids to SMU. I'm just happy to see some of our former players now coaching. We have Joyner and Flanigan on football staff and hopefully we will see some former players on future bball staffs as well.

As a "California guy," we don't nearly bag on our own school as much as any "Texas guy."

And no one would bag on the school if the Administration would pull their heads out of their arses.
I have remained a loyal Mustang from California, now living in CO, since before I went. It has been a painful experience.

Go Ponies!

I was born and raised in Texas. I'm pretty sure ojai is from Texas, too.

Go June Jones and go Jank! Give them lifetime contracts. #ponyboy4AD
