USF gave Houston all they could handle. Our guys will need to put together two good halves to beat Houston but as the TV crews have repeatedly said, this is an opportunity game for SMU

UConn , Memphis, and Wichita are all going to finish around 10-8 or 9-9. 11-7 will get someone fourth place, 12-6 is third.

Cincy's schedule is much easier than Houston. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cincy finish at 14-4 and finish ahead of 13-5 Houston.

Prediction:
Houston: finishes 3-3, 13-5
Cincy finishes 6-1, 14-4
Tulsa finishes 4-3, 12-6
SMU finishes 5-2, 12-6
Memphis finishes 4-4, 10-8
Wichita finishes 4-4, 9-9
UConn finishes 6-1, 10-8
Houston and Cincy are the only two tourney bids. Memphis, UConn, and Wichita get selected for the NIT unless SMU and/or Tulsa make a run in the conference tourney.

Wichita State trying to double up UCF in 1st half in Orlando. Rumors of the Shockers demise were just that...they are going to compete for one of those top 4 spots in the AAC and our game with them at Moody will be huge.

Memphis-Cincy is an awesome game and really shows the AAC in a very positive light.

Memphis vs Cincinnati was one heck of a game; Wichita State at UCF not so much. You just never know what you are going to get night after night in this conference. With both Memphis and Wichita State now sitting at 6-5 and one game behind us, those games with them at Moody have become "must wins" for our guys if SMU is going to finish in the top 4. Now if our guys could just find a way to upset Houston...

Wichita absolutely killed UCF on the boards, and shot better than they have in quite a while. Still struggling from three, but if they hit the boards like that and are more efficient offensively, they might be able turn things around.

They came into conference scoring at a pretty good clip, and then scored over 70 the first 4 games of conference. But then since then: 53, 54, 56, 51, 79, 43, 75. They can't hit threes. The games they score a lot, it is offensive rebounding and turnovers. IMHO, the shooting issues are going to cause them to struggle against the better teams in conference. Theoretically, for example, we should be able to outscore them at home. So I don't think they will really turn things around and compete.

They seem to be one of those teams struggling a bit with the new three-point distance. Sometimes a couple of inches really can make a difference.
