With both Memphis and Wichita State now sitting at 6-5 and one game behind us, those games with them at Moody have become "must wins" for our guys if SMU is going to finish in the top 4. Now if our guys could just find a way to upset Houston...
Wichita absolutely killed UCF on the boards, and shot better than they have in quite a while. Still struggling from three, but if they hit the boards like that and are more efficient offensively, they might be able turn things around.
They came into conference scoring at a pretty good clip, and then scored over 70 the first 4 games of conference. But then since then: 53, 54, 56, 51, 79, 43, 75. They can't hit threes. The games they score a lot, it is offensive rebounding and turnovers. IMHO, the shooting issues are going to cause them to struggle against the better teams in conference. Theoretically, for example, we should be able to outscore them at home. So I don't think they will really turn things around and compete.
