Fun facts from today's box score:

Only 2 guys shot FTs but Mike and Bandoumel were a perfect 6-6

Jasey with 5 rebounds in only 12 minutes

SMU with 22 assists on 33 made FGs; Davis with 9 of those

They played well enough to make me not notice 17 turnovers. Other than that, a damn good showing.

Very pleased with the way we played. Now we have to beat Vanderbilt to close out our atrocious non-conference schedule. The first challenging game of the year should be January 15 at Houston.

The one thing I noticed was they are smiling. Maybe usf is not good but the guys were thinking, smiling and having fun.

Team is coming together and are learning each others tendencies thus some SHOWY plays.

Keep going Mustangs. FYI, I have season tickets but split them as I can't go to any Wednesday games. My first conference game is Jan. 18 Temple.

A lot more touches in the post than in previous games. Ran many more offensive plays than just 1v1 isolation. Good signs moving forward.

Great first game to take my 4th grade grandson too. Lots of dunks, alley oops, 3's and good D.
They just moved to Dallas, and won't be his last game.

I think there was more like 3,000 people there today. The cameras may not have shown some large groups up high in the rafters. As we checked in, there were a ton of dads and young kids at will call, and looked like some kid teams there as well.

New Year's Day competing with Winter Classic in Dallas and College Bowl games against USF and students on Christmas break, 3,000 is a pretty good crowd.

You picked a good one. Check out Jank's post game interview. He wasn't pleased that after the guys got the big lead they were forcing lobs for back door slams and got pretty sloppy, but definitely entertaining!

One of the all time great trainers. Glad he still comes around the Hilltop.

I was an Eddie Lane patient. Cash came in as a fill in one year while Eddie served as a trainer in the Olympics but I never really got to know him since I was not yet on the intensive care list of players.
