A serious question: What did Jank do, or not do, that hurt our chances?

The team gave up on him today. They didn’t give a damn. Now I don’t either.

Simple answer - the coach can't shoot three-pointers. Ethan Chargois, Tyson Jolly and Kendrick Davis were 1-for-15 from three-point land. Also, Jolly was 2-for-12 shooting overall.

ECU had 18 assists on 24 FGs. Did they play that well or was our defensive intensity as p!ss poor the entire game as what I witnessed over the last 7 minutes?

The early afternoon games can be pretty tough. Especially on the road.

I only watched the last 7 minutes and saw a couple of forced threes when Davis allowed the shot clock to run down so my question is: "did those misses come off good looks after we had moved the ball around including moving the ball inside/out...or did we just throw it around the perimeter and throw up forced/contested shots?" I have no problem with the former but living and dying by the three is where Jank's coaching style is in sharp contrast to L.B.'s

No, we were just launching 3s and couldn't rebound. Then we watched as ECU missed and missed and missed and finally scored on their fourth opportunity. They wanted it more than we did.

SMU had an 87.3% win probability with 3:14 remaining.

We have run down the shot clock and jacked up threes as a mainstay of our offense for quite a while now. We do what we do.

That HAS to be coaching!

It is logical, coaching 101 things. Davis and Jolly could get to the rim at will, and we are a great free throw shooting team. With a lead in the second half we do nothing but jack 3s instead of driving. It was maddening. Also, at the end when we were up 5 with a couple of minutes to play Jasey should be out there instead of Chaggy. Jasey can defend the rim and Chaggy can’t. Jank failed to put Jasey in against Georgia at the end of regulation and it cost us there too.

rather telling that only 6 posters posted during this game (I didn't even know they were playing), but I digress.

Is this a serious question Arkpony????????????

I'll answer it for you. tankovich had all the momentum in the world and he gave us dog poop for recruits. That's why we will get blown out by NCAA tourney quality teams, tankovich knows this so he schedules OOC cupcakes so he won't get totally exposed. But he can't completely mask this mediocre team, and it WILL get exposed time to time, including ANY road game this season.

This was simply one of those times.

This is a team that should be ranked between 80 to 100. I don't see NIT in its future. CBI anyone?

Such a shame we lost this one. Thought we might get some votes at 13-2 (3-0).

I’ve been on the slopes in Aspen and didn’t watch the game like I usually get to. Not exactly a secret I wanted Jank fired a while ago, but I am stunned we lost to ECU. We should leave him in hillbilly land. But we won’t.
Our players deserve so much better. The conference is in a down year and a coach with a plan could sneak us into the tournament. Instead I predict lots of excuses and fingerpointing at the NCAA over one waiver. Pathetic.

Fat chance. Plenty of more deserving teams than ours.
