1) Coach is not salesman and needs to be here
2) OOC schedule was so weak that it requires us to go undefeated to get buzz. It didn't happen.
3) Re-seat absolutely killed it from the get-go
4) Miller doesn't have enough money to run the whole program efficiently. He has to wait for the contract to run out. You know he's praying that a team foolishly comes looking for Jank.
5) Coach that generally gets outcoached.

Combine all of that and you get this disaster.
Well you know I love you but you're wrong on Miller he can do whatever he wants has the money to knock everybody's face in the dirt

No doubt hes rich but not sure he wants to be the only one forking money for buyouts. Anyways definitely dark days ahead for basketball. I like to think one day both programs can be on the rise at the same time instead of alternating.

SMU thought that the new shiny Moody was the reason for the sellouts instead of Larry Brown. You would think they would have learned something from when new shiny Ford was built.

Hard to cover up a money grab. I'm not sure how many different ways there were to reward the latest biggest donors and keep the heart alive at the same time.

The majority of it could have been eliminated by just saying we need this amount of money for your seats and if you can't pay it you have to move. Or perhaps they could have targeted premium seats and personally contacted those owners to see if they could have made an arrangement to get those seats without the previous circus act. I always laugh or hang up on them when they say put a deposit down and just hope lol.

A lot of those people that never had basketball seats that dumped cash are gone now too. The thrill of big time basketball seems like a foggy dream from the past.

I feel a little bad for the people who made larger than necessary donations to get some seats and still have to pay that donation every year to keep their seats. I mean, that's what the rules were!!!

Most of them can Afford it, I need to be frugal and cautious with my entertainment spending. All 5 rows in my section 102 stub hub their seats each week so you could sit there for $50 a game for 2 seats or donate 3 grand and another grand for two seats , I'll rearrange those dollars towards football this season and stub hoops next year. ROBO DOH niches!

"The greater the renewal rate the fewer the tickets you have to sell next year. Fans know when you care. You can’t fake it. It is hard work, but it has to be done. Know your customers and treat them like gold." - Mark Cuban 02/23/14 - after attending an SMU basketball game

Really wish someone could get Mark to write a follow-up after attending an SMU game this season.

I was on board to pay up to keep my same seats. I wanted somebody to tell me how much. Unfortunately, that wasn't in the plan. So, I don't go to basketball anymore. Football, yes.

That's assuming that he has been to a game this year. Unless maybe he went to the Jackson State or Northwestern State games.

Me, too and I canceled my 4 stadium club seats, my annual donations to buying extra tickets, and annual donations to the basketball and football "excellence funds" for good measure. I don't watch basketball any more because Jank and his coaching makes me physically nauseous. I watch football from the comfort of my family room. Just like some sort of annual deficit , my annual $20,000 I used to give to SMU athletics just keeps negatively adding up each year..........

Same, if they had increased my ticket price, I would still be a season ticket holder. Not been to a game since the reseat and probably won't go to any more.

I'm in the same boat. Had no problem with the higher donation, but they would not tell me where my seats would be. Cancelled my four basketball season tickets, Section 104, 103 and cancelled my four stadium club seats in football. No more donations at all. Been going to games for 35 years, but no more.

I went along with the reseat last year and renewed my tickets. I increased my donation to the minimum required per ticket to stay in 204, and I actually got moved down a few rows. I ended up going to half of the games last year because it became unbearable to watch poorly coached basketball and sit in an arena that had lost everything Larry Brown had built.

I've had season tickets since the Shumate era and have witnessed plenty of bad basketball thru the years, but I always had hope that one day we would get over the hump and be able to return to the glory years. My first games in Moody were when Dave Bliss was here, so I knew what it could be. It's one thing to pay 250 per season ticket just to watch basketball and support the Mustangs, but 4 tickets for 5600 I expect much better than the pre LB product.

I did not renew this year when Jank was retained. I've been to one game so far that I paid 7 per ticket for and sat in better seats than my previous season tickets. It's all just extremely sad.

What was the formula? A perfect storm: A committed money man. Beautifully redone Moody, making our place one of the best in the business. A new practice facility in Crum, new locker rooms. A new and exciting conference affiliation with traditional basketball schools. A Dallas fanbase who loves a winner. And I mean LOVES a winner. And one of the top basketball coaches in history came to be OUR coach.

The reseat was a screw up. Big time.

Moody's still there. Crum is still there. Money man is still there.

Conference has watered a bit, but still basically solid.

Dallas is still there, waiting.

Coach. We have Jankovich, a good, solid guy. He'll never be Larry Brown.

Let me ask you this: Is there anyone in college basketball, college or pro, who you'd rather have had than LB? I think he's irreplaceable. I'd have to go back in history to find a guy of his stature.

How do we go forward? Try to replicate as much of the above as is possible. Fix the season tickets problem. Find the best coach you can and give him tools. I don't think that's Jank, but let's see how the season plays out.

Pitino. And for all who keep saying the administration would never allow hiring of Pitino, the same administration hired Larry f’ing Brown.
