Bottom line...our guys won 1 of 2 road games at some really tough places to play. Not going to win many games when you shoot worse than 30% and Davis puts up a goose egg. Mike, Davis & Bandoumel go 2-24 tonight

Davis didn't score?

SMU out rebounded tonight 38-28. Just an all around ugly night. Move on to the next game.

Davis did not score and went 0-6. Also had 3 turnovers and only one assist but did get 7 rebounds. Early foul trouble limited his minutes but Cincy D ate him up tonight

C.J. White was a bright spot tonight. Scored 11 on 4-5 shooting including 3-3 from three. Also had 4 boards, 1 steal and 6 assists vs 2 turnovers. Did a pretty good job filling in for Davis

Was hopeful Memphis was the start of a massive surprise for all of us.
Instead, tonight was a reminder that we cannot handle quality competition. We looked terrible in every part of the game. Never a good sign when CJ White is your silver lining.

Good thing we practice the half court shot so much

Cincinnati is a tough home team. They've won their home games vs AAC opponents by 16 (UConn), 31 (Tulsa), 25 (ECU) and now by 22 over SMU.

That was just a pitiful overall effort. I hope it doesn't linger and simply helps fuel them for the next couple of games.

Definitely a disappointing night. I really thought we would hang with them but it got out of hand early.

That was ugly. Davis didn't score, but I thought Mike wasn't really in the game all night on either side of the ball.

I didn't like that we never made the adjustment offensively to move back off the line. They were crowding, so you want to create space on the court and play a few feet back from the 3 point line. We kept right on the line for the most part and it allowed them to compress space.

I thought Cincy played physical and we played soft. They bumped us the whole game, and would force a bobble. Very few clean touches. We played off of them on the other end of the court. We didn't finish strong at the rim.

I hate to point out one call, but I thought the first foul on Davis was awful. They let Cincy get in our grill the entire game. The one time we got in their sphere, they swing elbows and call us for the foul? Come on- you can't bring elbows high like that and twist. The whole team backed off after that, and Cincy stayed physical. Poor team reaction to a bad call, but the refs let them get away with a lot.

I also thought the second call on Davis was bogus, the block, but they never showed a replay. Those two fouls obviously had a significant impact on the first half.

CJ settled the team down and tried to actually run the offense, which was nice.

Disappointing to see Jasey get abused down low for strength.

Cincy is a really bad matchup. They have someone quick enough to engulf Davis at the point, and they have athletes that could protect the rim on the inside when others dribbled in.

I will also add that when, early in the game, Davis would beat a double in the backcourt, giving us a 5 v 3 and we either didn't convert or (most of the time) circled back out to allow their defense to get organized, that was definitely not a good sign.
