Better keep watching for updated projections. If UConn can beat Houston tonight, look for them to pass SMU and if we fall to 7th in the AAC, virtually every regular season "one bid" conference champion will have to win their conference tourney or there aren't going to be enough NIT spots available for SMU

Would be great to get this young team some tournament experience for the NIT next year.

Plus we would have a few more weeks of five-on-five practice.

The only reason to invite this team to a post season tournament is for comic relief.

With UConn beating Houston tonight and Memphis playing better lately, SMU will have to play more than 2 more games to have any hope. I think it will take at least 4 games with 3 of those being wins. I'm sticking with my prediction that 22-11 gets SMU into the NIT but with 6 other AAC teams arguably now having better resumes than SMU, we have to hope that all of the one bid league regular season champs win their conference tourneys and auto bids. Since any regular season champ that doesn't win their auto bid gets an auto bid to the NIT, there can't be many of those before the NIT runs out of room for SMU.

Of course, we really have to hope the AAC can get 3 teams into the NCAA because that may be the only way our top 7 teams all play in either the NCAA or NIT
