We have been rather competitive this year in conference play outside of 1 game, a Cincy thrashing last month. This same Tulane team defeated Cincinnati at Tulane earlier this season, so you have to keep some perspective and not overact to any one game, whether good or bad.

My complaint with tankovich is that he took a 20-30th ranked team and moved them to 80-100.

That alone should cost him his job, but I fully expect him to return next season.

As it stands now, I will only get offended if they extend him.

Real test for Jank and this staff on Saturday. I'm sure they will watch some film to see how Houston managed to beat Tulsa by 33 after losing to them in Tulsa. Crushing them on the boards and holding them to 35% shooting including 20% from three point range (and Tulsa's leading scorer Brandon Rachal to 0-9 shooting) is certainly a plus.

Yes. We definitely need to maximize our five-on-five practice intensity this week and focus on the details necessary to beat Tulsa. Huge game now!

Yuck. Second Q3 loss of the year. Combined with the Cincy loss, the AAC might struggle to get a second bid to the NCAAs. Cincy has a lot of Q3 losses.

I might be wrong :!: Kept yelling at the TV screen "work it inside, don't keep throwing up those
brick 3 shots :!:

Jank on the radio interview with Rich defended all the 3 shots :!: If you can't find a way to work
it inside with the last team in the conference maybe you just aren't trying hard enough :!: :!:

I don't have any problem with this team shooting threes as long as they are "good threes". Those shots are created by getting the ball inside and by moving the ball and then finding the open guy after the defense has reacted to penetration and movement. All too often last night Tulane forced us to shoot from the left side and from a couple of feet beyond the 3 point line. This SMU team remains a pretty good 3 point shooting team (even after last night they've shot 34% on the season) and if they had hit just 25% last night they would have won that game.
