Davis drives the lane, shot blocked, Ira Terrell loses his mind over non-call.

Gilbert foul gives Mustangs ball with 75-73 lead

Davis outfights 4 Huskies, flips to Mike who launches long pass — almost out of reach of Feron Hunt, who pulls it in and gets fouled.

Hunt hits 2 FTs

SMU 77-73 with 16.3 to go in second

Feron Hunt has been nothing short of spectacular. Trying to stave off an epic 15 point collapse.

Davis steal, long pass to Hunt as buzzer goes off — Hunt throws down reverse dunk anyway.

FINAL: SMU 79, Connecticut 75

Mustangs now 17-6, 7-4 in AAC
Huskies now 13-11, 4-7 in AAC

A win is a win and our team's ownership of UConn continues. Great game by Hunt and we needed every bit of it tonight. Great clutch FT shooting to put this game away. Team hit 14-16 FTs and that, together with better than 50% shooting, including 9-17 threes is what got it done tonight

We go to 15-4 all time against the Huskies

Bandoumel scared me every time he touched the ball in the 1st half but he came on strong at the end. Pulled down 6 boards and had 4 steals, scored 13 points on 4-8 shooting including 2-3 threes and 3-3 FTs. Good game for him after a shaky start with the 2 early turnovers

After a tough 1st half, Davis finishes with 6 assists vs his 3 1st half turnovers. He shot well and did a great job driving the lane tonight

So who had the great idea to take Kendic Davis off the Point with about 6-7 minutes to play. At least 4 possessions -nuthin' -and we don't score a basket for 3 minutes and UCONN cuts the lead to 4. Then in final 3 minutes Davis barely touches the ball-everybody dribbling-making wild passes. Get the god damn ball to Kendric Davis each and every possession. If Kendric is tired then call a timeout-better than the inevitable 8 point swings when the SMU offense stagnates while he is off the ball

Considering UCONN just beat then No. 1 Tulsa on the road before Rachal's injury and beat No. 2 Cincy last weekend-definitely a quality win but the breakdown down the stretch was ridiculous

SMU should be sitting pretty right now at 9-2 and 19-4 if they would learn who the best player on the Court is

Good and much needed win. A young team still learning how to win. As Stallion points out, the days of pick up BB are over and team play i.e. get it to your playmaker, is more important than youthful panic.
