Now watch them hire Steve Forbes in which case I hope it doesn't turn out to be a woulda coulda shoulda for SMU basketball!

gee- how interesting that some small schoolls actually step up and get rid of lazy under performers rather than let their program continue to sink into oblivion. Novel idea- maybe in the next decade or so that idea will make its way to the Dallas area.

Nice to have $15 mil or whatever might have been negotiated on Manning's buyout

We should have made a change at the end of last season but since we didn’t, I’m not going to complain given what’s going on in the world right now.

Nice to have P5 money rolling so you have the funds to pay a $15MM buyout rather than rely on the generosity of a major donor.
That’s the reality not our “ unwillingness “ to take action.

Wake should have gotten rid of Manning earlier, they were also waiting on a lower buyout, just like SMU (but admittedly at a different $ level).

Funny thing is that every year, several excellent coaches are on the street or up and comers. Either they get dumped by the NBA or dumped by colleges. So, next year there will be another crop that may be more attractive than this year's crop.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Considering they just had their other coaches take a pay cut, their funds aren't unlimited. https://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.c ... k-pay-cut/

Will be interesting to see how Forbes does. I hope we don't regret going after him
