Wichita State hangs on to beat Temple 70-67 so they join Houston with 2 losses, Memphis and USF have 3 losses and SMU and Cincinnati have 4 losses each. Cincy and USF have net rankings over 100 while SMU, Memphis and Wichita State are 59, 60 & 75 respectively

Cinci has won their last 4 games by 3,2,1 and 1 point. Living on the edge

But they are winning and with only 4 conference losses they are playing their way back into contention. SMU, Cincy and USF all have 4 losses but we have 7 wins compared to 5 for Cincy and only 3 for USF, a program REALLY struggling to play conference games this year

Huge game tonight with Houston at Wichita State.

I would assume the Cougars have been through a bit of an ordeal this week.

And now we know Wichita State is the team to beat in the AAC. Our two games with them, assuming they are eventually played will be huge in determining whether this SMU team is post season worthy

Even though they are only fourth in The American in NET Wichita State sure seems to be the most likely team to get a second bid if the conference gets one - especially now that they have two quad 1 wins.

The American will definitely get a second bid now. Whomever finished second between Memphis, WSU and SMU. If SMU splits with WSU and doesn't have bad losses then it is all up to finishing ahead of Memphis and WSU in the conference tourney. If we lose both WSU games and have a bad loss, then we might have to win the tourney to get in.

Houston is putting a big ol hurting on Cinci. Guess 4 wins against the botton feeders isn't translating well for the bearcats.

Wichita State blows a double figure lead and loses to former conference mate Drake after missing a buzzer beater three. Pretty exciting game. 1st NCAA tourney win for Drake in 50 years

Houston destroyed Cleveland State with a huge rebounding advantage and Memphis handled Dayton in their 1st round NIT game. Hope both teams represent the AAC well and go deep into their respective events. Memphis is going to have to shoot FTs better as they hit only 5-12 today

Gritty win by the Cougs. On a night when Sasser couldn't hit the wall, he made those 2 clutch FTs when the team had shot only 50% on FTs to that point. I'm glad they advanced to the round of 16 but I'm afraid their poor shooting is going to make it really tough against that Syracuse zone

Memphis finishes off a strong weekend with an easy win vs Colorado State yesterday and pulled away from Mississippi State in the 2nd half today to win the NIT

A little surprised Houston beat Syracuse relatively easily last night. Stifling defense and tenacious rebounding by the Cougs so they advance to take on Cinderella Oregon State for a chance to play in the Final Four
