Didn't get to watch or listen as just got home but good to see double/doubles from both Hunt and Davis. Kendric scored 20 pts, had 6 steals and dished out 13 assists vs 0 turnovers!!!

Team had 17 steals and 5 guys in double figures. Good to see McNeill getting into the mix with 13 pts on 5-8 shooting. Another good FT shooting night with 22-28 for 78%, even though we didn't make more than HBU shot tonight (22 vs 24) :D

Season scoring leaders in ppg including this game:
KD 21.3
Hunt 15
Chargois 14.6
Smith 10
Bandoumel 12.6
McNeill 9
Jasey 6

Nice to see 5 and soon to be 6 guys averaging double figures. If we can keep that up when we play against teams like Dayton we will have a fun season.

No doubt. Love the balanced scoring and now just hope we can see Anei add to the low post defense and rebounding before we face tougher competition. Smith IV continues to be instant offense off the bench

The offense is wonderful, we have plenty of guys who can score. But the defense in the first half was awful.

The team defense and activity in the open court is great. But our individual defending and off the ball defending is not what it needs to be. We struggled to defend in the half court in the first half, and when they spread the ball around, the backside was wide open with too much help.

Kind of reminds me of those Tom Penders teams in the 90s with a lot of good guard play and athleticism but limited defense, struggling when the game gets slowed down.

Dayton isn't the same team as last season but will be able to slow us down. Interesting to note how many minutes their starters played in their opener - a key factor might be our ability to wear them down with the deep bench, especially if we can keep the pace high.

Certainly some great work by Tim Jankovich in the locker room at halftime to turn things around!

Before we get too down on the defense, remember that HBU put up 77 on Arizona State the previous game. They’re a pretty salty little team. Terry Webster was right: We jumped nine slots to #41 Sagarin.

They also hit some crazy shots in the first half.

That said, we left a lot of looks open in the first two games that those teams bricked.

Looking forward to see what happens against Dayton and Temple. Will be interesting to see if we can drive a fast pace in both games, and how we perform in the half court on both sides of the ball.
