SMU (8-2, 4-2 American) at Memphis (8-5, 4-2 American)
FedExForum – Memphis, Tenn.

TV: ESPNU

We are without Jankovich and some assistants for the next few games, but finally at full strength. We swept Memphis last season. Let's do it again this season!

It's going to be tough to win in Memphis without Coach Jankovich, but hopefully we can do it!

Go Ponies!!!

We have won 9 of the last 12 v Memphis State, with several in recent years on their floor. How about a night of balanced scoring, hitting free throws, and second chance baskets!

and just as important, limiting offensive rebounds and second chance scoring opportunities!

Looking forward to it!

UCF is not nearly as talented as Memphis. However, I noticed that SMU played much better TEAM ball in the last game compared to previous games. They were running the court, sharing the ball, and fighting for loose balls and rebounds.

Anei looked far more comfortable as a threat on both offense and defense - every outing he looks better. Hunt seemed to settle into his proper role and looked very strong. Holly, is obviously rusty. But surely he improves with each game. After 9 games, McNeil's numbers are approaching double digits in scoring/rebounding.

Against Cincinnati and Houston we couldn't buy a FT. That looked much improved against UCF, now at 73.8% as a team. Need to get that above 75%. We will need those points against the top half of the AAC.

I like our chances with Memphis even without coach. I think this team can win both there, and here in Dallas. And I sure hope we can stay healthy, because I want a rematch with Houston at full strength.

Announcers fawning over the fact that SMU is shooting 75% — apparently unaware that there's still 29 minutes to go

They would look better against a normal court, instead of the weird blue stained floor Memphis has. Interesting idea, but looks like crap on TV.
