Give Memphis credit for taking K.D. out of this game. Very uncharacteristic 6 turnovers to go with his
6 assists. Only 8 points on 4-14 shooting and 0-5 from three. Admittedly, it looks like they may have stolen that last three from him with the shot clock violation call but you could see this game was going to come down to whether SMU could continue to hit threes and K.D.'s wave off coupled with Bandoumel's clutch miss pretty much did us in tonight.

Hopefully the guys can regroup and come out strong and play a 40 minute game Thursday

Must win game on Thursday. We were punched in the mouth and spent 15-20 minutes crying about it. Once we gathered ourselves we made it a game, but too little too late. We had too many wasted plays on offense and no shows on the defensive end. Tyson Jolly did his thing, but unfortunately KD played his worst game of the season. If KD plays an average game, SMU wins comfortably. A very disheartening loss for this team.

I'm not a big "the refs screwed us" person. But the refs screwed us in the game.

4 straight calls:
- waive off the three
- KD drives to the hoop and gets pushed in the back on the missed layup
- KD drives on thenext posession and gets absolutely slapped across the arms. Ball out for SMU throw, but it was a foul.
- On the throw in, Band gets shoved and we turn it over..

Two very athletic, at times undisciplined teams. Both have tourney level talent.

McNeil didn't get enough run tonight.

The rotation needs to change. Hunt and Chagois need to rotate at the 4 and Jasey with Anei at the 5. We need to be a guard and wing driven team. Davis, Band, Jolly, McNeil, and Smith need to be rotating at the 3 spots.

On the waved off three, I thought it was going to be a plus one after Lomax swiped K.D. across the head, causing him to double pump that shot. I agree with McNeill (and Smith) not getting enough minutes as McNeill played only 12 minutes and Smith only 6. K.D. shouldn't go 38 minutes in a game played with that level of intensity. Will be interesting to see what adjustments are made for Thursday (undoubtedly with Jank's input)

I hope so. These close games are the ones were we really need Coach Jankovich.

I am confident we will get back on track and be ready for them Thursday!!

If Jank is back in we will lose by 20.

Not sure I agree. Best player (Davis) has a poor shooting night and uncharacteristic 6-6 assists/turnovers, and SMU still nearly won at Memphis. With an average shooting night (when is the last time Davis blew a layup?), Ponies could win. Hope so, anyway.

I agree that McNeill didn't play enough or get enough shots. Not sure why. Our talent is at guard spot so I agree we need to play small more often.

Down through the ages, "bad calls beat us" is The Loser's Anthem. Winners win; losers make excuses. Look for a lot more excuses to come.

Davis' game reminded me of last year up here at Cinci...Cumberland is several inches taller than Davis and shut him down completely. Memphis did the same things.

Save this otherwise reasonable comment for a game when ESPN does not re-run multiple shots showing how bad the calls were, which they did for both the bad call reversing the KD three (and foul), and for the bad call of an inbounds turnover instead of a pushing foul.
