Davis picks up fourth foul — on a Sasser three-pointer

Davis sits with 11:37 to go
Sasser hits 1 of 3
45-31

Not suggesting the officials are the reason for the score — they're not. But the third and fourth fouls on Davis were among the lightest you'll ever see.

Sasser 3 and Mark lay-in stretches it to 50-31

I hope Houston is actually deserving of that rating but they shoot poorly for a Top 5 team. They are athletic, they hustle and play tough D. We'll see how Houston measures up if there is a post season this year, but this SMU team is not NCAA worthy. Hope to play in the NIT, again assuming there is one this year. So many games still being postponed and cancelled I'm not very confident

Would be interesting to see how many of UH's rebounds (Houston leads 34-26 on the glass) are the result of long tips from near the rim out to the perimeter, where it ends up in the hands of a Houston guard. Seems like at least a half a dozen have been intentionally swatted out to a guard at the 3-point line

Davis on the bench with 4 fouls

SMU's Jasey and UH's Gresham have 3 each

Grimes gets his third.

Game has slowed to a crawl with frequent whistles

Fouls piling up — Jarreau's third is the 16th called in last 10 minutes.

If that is the Mustangs' approach from here on out, 58.8% free throw shooting (10/17) must improve in a hurry.

They do a really good job of keeping the ball alive when their guy can't pull it down himself. That's part of my comment about them beating us to most loose balls. They are athletic and have our guys playing at a faster pace than we are comfortable playing.

Our guards are 3-22 FGs and only 4-8 FTs

In the lone loss to Tulsa, Houston shot just 35% from the field, including 19% on 3-pointers (4 of 21) and were unable to overwhelm Tulsa with their physicality, as they have most opponents. They outrebounded Tulsa 38-35.

UH leads 37-28 in rebounds so far in this game with 34% from the field and 27% on 3-pointers (6 of 22). Tulsa shot 42% but SMU is at 31% so far.
