PLEASE tell me this is it for Jank

Postby East Coast Mustang » Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:47 pm

The Excuseapalooza has extended into yet another year for our fearless leader. The going gets tough? Just shut down the whole season and hope you’re retained for another year.

Yes, Jank has had some adversity during his time here. But he was also handed a gold mine of a program. And in the face of any adversity he’s faced, he has wilted — every single time. Are we going to keep buying his excuses, or expect better and move on?

If Jank is back for another year, Moody will be a morgue. It’s time to make a change, or accept our position alongside Tulane, ECU and USF as AAC programs that don’t expect much from men’s basketball. We can and should expect better.

I just don't see Hart doing what needs to be done. Both can use Covid as an excuse this year. Also they can blame the lack of recruiting on Covid as well.

Next year even if you offered free tickets to anyone I am not sure Moody would fill up.

I thought it was NCAA tournament or bust this year?

I don’t care to get into all the over the top, juvenile, unbalanced vitriol and flaming pitchforks ravings. But the standard still should be NCAA tournament or bust. This year.

I like Jank. A lot. But that’s the standard. He’s had time and patience.

I’m assuming we would have the financial wherewithal to move on, of course. Here’s hoping we don’t need to.

So what I hear you saying is that the SMU basketball program is another death casualty for COVID. I'm adding that to the numbers.

Wouldn't the only way that Jank would be in trouble would be for money to be offered for his buyout and an upgrade? If a big donor went to Hart with a plan it would probably get done. Too tough to see how bad the fan support was this year. In a "normal" year, you could feel compelled to make a change if fan support dwindled to a whimper. Sort of like last year except that recruiting was solid and the team came around until this last 2-3 weeks of Covid cancellations.

Regardless of whether a change should be made, it seems unlikely. They won 19 last year, and are 11-4 this year, when no team can know what players they'll have from one game to the next. (Some have written that this is a bubble team - getting in seems unlikely to me unless they win AAC tournament.)

Replacing an 11-4 coach during a pandemic would be tough, unless as tristatecoog said, a deep-pockets alum steps forward and demands by offering to foot the bill for the next coach.

Hear the second half of this podcast? https://247sports.com/college/smu/Artic ... 161751987/

If Hart truly believes Moody will be sold out again next fall, he must be planning on making a change at HC. There is NO WAY Moody will be full if TJ is brought back for another season. For Hart to believe that would be delusional.

censorship is alive and well on pf. IIRC the last couple of posts have been removed. perhaps because they didn't fit the blm/marxist agenda. sad when people can no longer voice their opinions when they don't coincide with the admin. etc.
Hey ECM, I think one of your posts was deleted as well.

Nothing of political nature is allowed on this board. You know that as well as anybody but you love to [deleted] about it whenever it goes against your moronic beliefs. See how that works? Instead of cheering for the same team we are divided because half our fanbase is of the [deleted] variety.
