Davis, Hunt Named All-American Athletic Conference

IRVING, Texas – Kendric Davis and Feron Hunt were named to All-American Athletic Conference teams, the league announced on Wednesday. Davis was a unanimous first-team selection and Hunt was honored on the third team. SMU has 17 All-AAC honors, the most among any program in the league's eight seasons.

Kendric Davis is averaging 17.7 points (3rd AAC), 7.6 assists (1st AAC, T-3rd NCAA) and 1.5 steals (4th AAC) with a 2.9 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st AAC, 15th NCAA). He is also among the league leaders in FG% (47.1, 9th AAC) and FT% (85.9, 4th AAC) while hitting 32.1% on threes. The junior has four points-assists double-doubles this season. Davis has twice been AAC Player of the Week this season with six additional appearances on the weekly honor roll. He was also one of 35 named to the Lute Olson National Player of the Year Mid-Season Watch List. This is Davis' second selection after being named to The American's third team last season.

Feron Hunt is averaging 11.9 points (15th AAC), 8.3 rebounds (3rd AAC) and 0.9 blocks (7th AAC) while shooting 56.9% from the field (3rd AAC). He has five double-doubles this season and has seven or more rebounds in 12 of 15 contests. The junior is tied for second at SMU in career field goal percentage (55.9%), 32nd in career rebounds (531) and is tied for 17th in career blocked shots (67).

The No. 4-seeded Mustangs (11-4, 7-4 American) open the Air Force Reserve American Athletic Conference Championship against No. 5-seeded Cincinnati (10-10, 8-6) on Friday at 2 p.m. CT. The tournament is at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Really need to hope both of those guys will come back next year but I'm expecting both to move on
