Boise is good. We’ll need to bring our A game!

Watching the selection show live, as soon as they showed Dayton was in I thought our guys better get an invitation! Pretty good field so should be a good tournament. I just hope this SMU team can be much closer to full strength by the time they face off with Boise State as the Broncos have played far more games than our guys and haven't had the interruptions so this will be a huge challenge.

Announcement from SMU:

INDIANAPOLIS - The SMU men's basketball team received a bid in the 2021 National Invitation Tournament and will face Boise State on Thursday at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, the tournament committee announced on Sunday night. SMU and Boise State will tip at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday on ESPN. For tickets, click HERE.

SMU earned its 18th postseason trip, and fourth in the past eight seasons. This is its fourth bid to the NIT with previous invites in 1986, 2000 and 2014. The Mustangs reached the championship game of the 2014 NIT.

The Mustangs enter the tournament with an 11-5 record, including a 5-3 record away from Moody Coliseum. SMU was 7-4 in American Athletic Conference play, earning the No. 4 seed in the AAC Championship.

The winner of the SMU and Boise State will take on the winner of Dayton and Memphis in the quarterfinal round of the NIT on March 25.

Woot!

Finally, another participation banner to be hung in Moody. Would be nice if we could pair it with the champion banner as well.

Yeah, winning an NIT championship and giving Jank another year would be absolutely disastrous

yep- the NIT ( nobody important tourney) will enable casper and the not-so-money man to keep this disaster floating for another year. Wonder how much they have lost in sales revenue the last few years.

Boise St. a 1 point favorite early on.

They started out really hot but lost their final 4, most of them though to San Diego St who is the top team in the conference.

Hoepfully, we will be in better shape with more players available for more minutes.

I don't feel good about anything we do in Frisco.
