someone mentioned Greg Marshall as a possible candidate. Not sure who that was (wasn't me) but I'm familiar with Marshall from his days at C of C and from what he's done at Winthrop. Here's more...

I really believe this is a great opportunity for anyone who comes in here to look really good in his 1st year. It's fairly typical in that "honeymoon" 1st year to see improved effort and it's not like Dement left the cupboard bare. I'm not sure how these guys will finish out this season, but I expect a much improved team next year. Just remember how low things had gotten under Shumate before Dement came in and how hard the team played in his 1st year. I feel sorry for Dement, Jr and wonder if he will stay with the team and go on to graduate from SMU?

How about Bobby Aitkenhead -- do you feel sorry for him too?

Bobbby Aitkenhead wasn't a bad player. He did a decent job filling in for Hop last year, and I thought he had a future. Not as a star, but a valuable guy off the bench.
