Tyson Jolly continues to lead Iona in scoring this season. He had 18 points on 9-12 FGs and added 3 rebounds and 3 assists vs 2 turnovers in the Gaels' win vs Marist today

Funny thing is, I don’t think Jolly would see nearly as much playing time on this squad. And I really like his game.

This is getting ridiculous. Just hope we get to finish this season and it doesn't become completely interrupted like last year, although the AAC appears to be doing better than most:

'The next month or so is going to be a disaster with games cancelled all over the place.

In Texas, our previous pandemic peak was at 25K new cases per day. We are currently at 45K cases per day. South Africa saw a significant drop in cases after around 2 months (started mid Nov, dropped early Jan). Shorter peak period than prior outbreaks. We are looking at mid-Feb probably when things start chilling out a bit, so even if we see cancellations in Jan and Feb, there should be enough time end of Feb and beginning of March to get legs back before the conference tourneys start. This should be easily past us by the time of the conference and NCAA tourneys.

On the plus side, Missouri beat # 15 Alabama 92-86 last night, so there's that.

But South Carolina beat Vanderbilt in Nashville, so there is also that.

Never know what you are going to get in college hoops. Hopefully our guys can bounce back from their poor performance in Cincinnati

Yor Anei gets a start for Covid depleted DePaul last night in their loss at Marquette and scored 16 points on 8-12 FGs and pulled down 11 rebounds in his 25 minutes. Probably the most productive game of his career

Yor Anei gets his 2nd start for DePaul who beat # 20 Seton Hall tonight. Anei scores 11 points on 1-2 FDs but makes 9-12 FTs while contributing a team high 8 rebounds. Sure could use the big man with Jasey possibly out for an extended period if not lost for the season

Did you catch the end of the tulsa/memphis game? I don't think I have ever seen a team screw up the last 15 seconds in my life.

It’s “two loss Tuesday.”

Somebody’s getting conference loss #3 tonight.
Cincy at Temple

So tough to win on the road. SMU remains one of 16 teams undefeated at home this year (only counted teams that have played at least 10 home games). There are 5 AAC teams that have winning records on the road but only UCF (4-3) and SMU (4-2) have played more than 5 road games. Houston is 3-1 in the 4 road games they have played. Our guys can't take USF for granted tonight, especially after they beat UCF by 24 in Tampa just 10 days ago!

We can't take anyone for granted. I think that the players and coaches know this.

Some helpful results for SMU tonight.

UNLV takes down Colorado State in Fort Collins! 88-74

That UNLV win was a shocker. UNLV never trailed, was up by as many as 22 and CSU never got it to within single digits in the 2nd half.
