Ok. Thanks for pointing that out. Weird that ESPN would keep the Feb 18 version posted throughout today, a day later.

With Memphis and SMU separated by a razor thin margin going into the game, weird that the blowout game appeared to have zero impact on Lunardi’s stack of the teams coming out of the game. I get his point about some Memphis high quality wins. And losing to a good SMU team on the road isn’t a great sin. But if you’re going to argue, as he does, that Memphis is a quality enough team to withstand a blowout, how does the team that blew them out not receive any kind of lift from what you’d also have to contend was a very high quality win…your honor?

ESPN updates it once or twice a week. Lunardi updates the top 4 seeds and the bubble on Twitter daily.

Bad losses (Loyola Marymount) are punished severely and very hard to overcome. It will take beating Houston in Houston to neutralize that loss. Just by avoiding that loss we would be comfortably in right now.

Or at least an opportunity, depending on how well we match up with them. Our guys have not fared well against the PAC 12 (remembering the USC, UCLA & Oregon losses) with the exception of beating Arizona in the pre-season tourney

I think we have fared well vs the PAC-12, we simply haven't managed to finish which is a mental issue and bad luck. Both games came down to the final possession.

Not sure I understand the Memphis "quality wins". They beat a 10 loss Bama, an 11 loss Va Tech, a 9 loss St Louis, and Houston. That's it.

Those teams have NET rankings of 22, 41, 59 & 4

Our best wins are Houston (4) Memphis twice (44) and Dayton (52)

I think the Bama game is the only real difference, plus the fact they won @ Houston. Let's see how we do there.

Latest from Joey Brackets: https://twitter.com/ESPNLunardi/status/ ... 97/photo/1

SMU is the last team in at the moment...of course that's in Joe's bracket, who follows this super closely.

Lord knows what will happen when the Selection Committee - comprised of Athletic Directors who know more about sports facilities, scheduling, and athletics workforce planning than they do about which current basketball teams around the nation are actually good - makes the official selections. For all teams except for blue bloods in the top 25 and conference champions it is a total crap shoot with those folks picking.

After Memphis beat Temple at home tonight, Joe switched us back to Memphis last 4 in and us first 4 out.

Yeah. Sometimes teams who most of the media experts have as a "lock" don't even make the tournament.

It's so disheartening they use that picture of us in the black uniforms.
