Memphis: Not That I’m Counting

Postby GHammond » Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:04 am

SMU has weirdly had their way with Memphis these last 10 seasons. The Ponies have won 11 of the last 15 versus Memphis State and 6 of the last 8 at Moody. Sort of flipped the script on this traditional power. They are riding a 6 game winning streak as they venture to Dallas on Sunday, with consecutive wins over Tulane, UH, and Cinci, with road W’s v the Coogs and Cinci. They've had some key players out with injuries and have had a series of roster churns, with phenom Bates out since mid Jan, I think. They seem to have rectified things for now and beating them could be a tall order, but much like the Ponies, which MSU team shows up Sunday? Here’s hoping Moody magic prevails, with KD, Bando, and the Weathers bros playing to their potential, with a surprise sub contributing 8 - 10. Long Live Todd Alexander.
