I suppose they never should have hired Larry Brown. He always seems to inspire the NCAA

The Athletic says it could very well hinder Memphis’ bid for a Big 12 invite. That would certainly help our cause. Go figure, the NCAA making something better for SMU.

They will definitely have a couple of tough seasons dealing with the sanctions.

I was thinking the same thing about the Big 12.

Exactly nothing of consequence will happen to Memphis

So how long a suspension will Penny get? A season? Nine games? Will Memphis fire him? I do agree that this puts Memphis in the doghouse for Big XII purposes if they weren't already. I'm not sure they want Penny's recruiting machine in the Big XII. If Penny is gone in a weird way that might help Memphis get in.

the documents will likely get lost in fed-x and never be seen again. meanwhile all the members of the 'infractions' committee are driving new mercedes.

The irony is so, so thick.

Larry Brown could be the guy who steps in to take over while Penny is on Probation.

What we know about Memphis basketball's NCAA infractions case and a timeline on how we got here

The University of Memphis remains embroiled in an NCAA investigation still working its way through the Independent Accountability Resolution Process.

Details of the case against the men's basketball program and coach Penny Hardaway have been kept under wraps since it was formally launched in November 2019. However, documents obtained by The Commercial Appeal through an open records request – while heavily redacted – make it abundantly clear the severity of the charges against Hardaway and Memphis, as well as the university's staunch opposition.

I predict Memphis will get torched. While this is bad for the conference, it is very good for SMU's attractiveness to get out of the conference.
